The D&R 7x50FF really is an ideal serious binocular for the professional user. The robust, fully rubber-armoured waterproof body makes it ideal for use in the working environment, and the fuss-free optics make it ideal for communal use by multiple users. The ease of use and quality of view is outstanding and no other binocular functions as easily or quicker than this focus-free model. However, it's as well to tick off the less advantageous points in this type of binocular too.

1. Because of the special design, the close-focus point is more remote (20m) than for conventional binoculars. Hence, the binocular is ideal for use at known observational ranges where close-up viewing is not required.

2. The special design will only work well if your eyesight is fully corrected. If your eyesight does not require correction (lucky you!) there will be no problem using the binocular, but if your eyesight does require opthalmic correction (ie if you need to wear glasses or contact lenses) you will need your prescription eyewear to use these binoculars effectivly.
