These binoculars are a great general use (birding, hiking etc) size and are regarded as one of the standard sizes for astronomy - with an efficient "light gathering" relationship between magnification and aperture, the 10x50 size will deliver stunning night-sky views compared with binos with a higher magnification to aperture ratio. The Optus feature soft rubber fold down eye-cups, making these binoculars ideal for all uses with or without spectacles.

Solid mechanics Everything about this binocular is good and solid. The focus system has a extra-large knob with rubber grip and it focuses the bino from just under 6m (19'6") to infinity in just a few quick turns! This is ideal for following fast action or following a bird as it changes it's position in your garden. The focusing is well engineered and feels smooth in operation.

The Optus is a serious binocular for the astronomer: all lenses and prisms are made from top quality BK-7 borosilicate glass and all major optical components are fully anti-reflection coated. The objective lenses have a broad-band anti-reflection coating that significantly improves light grasp and contrast.

The rugged rubber armoured body has a comfortable high quality feel and features a tripod fitting bush (aitional bracket required - see btm left - again, making this binocular ideal for astronomy).
