This 50mm spotting scope from Praktica is a compact power packed scope of unique design. The scope has solid mechanics with a heavily rubber armoured body and an unusual magnification range (18x to 36x); this makes the scope particularly suitable for the outdoor sportsman or target shooter and other users who need a reliable scope that will go anywhere and shrug off rough use.

The scope features a convenient focus system which is operated via a large comfortable helical focus wheel surrounding the scope“s solid all-metal eyepiece. This is especially effective if the user has gloved hands as may be the case in cold or wet conditions. The zoom is also controlled by a smooth selector ring mounted on the eyepiece just above the focus ring.

Our comment:This is an unusual scope and is well suited to "action" usage (hunting and target shooting etc.). The solid no frills design pays dividends in rough service lifetime. This is a scope designed to last and even comes with a ten year warranty. The magnification range is unusual in starting at a low 18x and topping out at a powerful 36x and makes the scope ideal for situations where the user may wish to get a quick view of a target by hand-holding the scope. A great spotter - recommended for the outdoor sportsman.

The eyepiece barrel is suitable for attaching a digital camera adapter, like the ST-98 making a very stable platform for those wishing to use the instrument for `Digi-Scoping“.

The Telesport uses Bk-7 prisms and the glass surfaces are fully coated which improves light transmission by helping to reduce light scatter which can result in loss of contrast and brightness if uncoated optics are used.
