Falcon spotting scope and field tripod kit - now only £59.99 inc UK mainland p&p in our sale - but hurry, sale stock is limited!
The Adler Falcon 60mm spotting scope and field tripod kit combines precision optical design and lightweight portability at a break-through low price! The Adler Falcon 60mm delivers all the performance you would expect from a modern spotting scope but at a incredible roll-back price.
Included: full sized field tripod. - The highly portable full sized Bresser 5000 field tripod extends to 1.44m (4ft 8") high and features a smooth pan & tilt head with over-sized altitude clutch control knob, a quick release plate - flick a lever and the spotting scope can be removed instantly. The head platform flips through 90 degrees as required to position the spotting scope as conveniently and comfortably as possible.
Ultra light-weight!
At only 578g, the Falcon is one of the lightest fully-prismatic 60mm spotting scopes on the planet - if not The lightest. It's certainly the lightest full-size scope we have ever seen.
Designed for the outdoor enthusiast on a tight budget (Er, these days that's all of us, isn't it? The Editor) the Falcon punches well above it's weight. Adler“s 60mm spotting scope features a comfortable 45-degree 15x to 45x zoom eyepiece delivering sharp, clear images at long and short range (11m close focus) viewing distances. The zoom eyepiece features a soft comfortable eyecup with good quality optics with enough eye-relief for all users (see middle picture).
Large smooth focus control
A brilliant feature of this new scope from Adler is the superbly efficient focus control (see middle picture). Positioned conveniently on the eyepiece along side the zoom control ring of the instrument, this allows smooth fast focusing and zoom control so you never miss the action.
Lightweight polycarbonate construction - the Falcon spotting scope is constructed from super-lightweight but ultra-tough rubberised polycarbonate affording quiet, safe handling in the field and a body that will protect the instrument from the bumps and knocks of a lifetime of regular use.
Fully weatherproof design - almost incredibly for the price, the Falcon is fully waterproof to ensure many years of reliable performance in the harshest environments.
BK7 glass optics - for bright, high contrast views and the Falcon has anti-reflection coated lenses.
Built-in sliding sunshade - the Falcon features a sliding dew and glare shade that is built-in to the body of the scope to further improve contrast and keep dew off the optics.
Accessories - the Adler Falcon spotting scope comes with aluminium full height field tripod as well as the standard all-metal tabletop tripod with a pan & tilt head, soft carry case with shoulder strap, and front and rear dust caps.
So what's so great about the Adler Falcon tripod kit?
Well, no one needs a calculator to work this out - it's the price plain and simple! Under £60 including UK delivery for a proper, prismatic, zoom, 60mm spotting scope (and it's waterproof and under 600g) and aluminium field tripod - it just sounds too good to be true. But it is true - and the old adage 'you get what you pay for' is looking decidedly shaky. The truth is this is a very low-cost scope - and in some areas, like looks and quality feel, it really shows. The manufacturer hasn't tried to make the scope look good or feel good - they've concentrated their costs on getting the optics to the necessary standard and holding them in place with a low-cost body design. And here they've done a first rate job. The product looks very basic (even a bit ugly to be fair) and the feel is no better (it just feels too light to be any good!) but you don't look at spotting scopes, you look through them. And here the Falcon scores well. When you look through the scope, you'll think you are looking through a much, much better, more expensive scope. And the optics aren't the only strong point of this mould breaking scope. It's the lightest 60mm spotting scope we've ever seen - and when you are packing for a foreign trip or backpacking, this can be a really important feature. It's a great scope to take on equatorial trips - if you lose it (ie stolen or lost) it's hardly a trauma - just buy another one (or even two! The Editor).
FAQs
People e-mail and ask if it's any good - "how can it be at this price?" they ask.
We say: the Falcon, under various names, has been advertised by numerous mail-order and newspaper marketing companies at two or three times our price - simply because they can get away with it. People simply expect to pay more than £70 for a servicable spotting scope and field tripod. It's a catch-22 situation - don't ask us, ask yourself, how can we convince you of its value without putting the price up? In the end we prefer to make good, enabling kit available at the lowest price we can go to.
