This 2 inch prime focus camera adapter is designed to fit SLR and DSLR cameras to telescopes with 2" eyepiece holders (pushfit) and SCT visual back threads.

This adapter is constructed so that it unscrews into two parts - (click picture for detail) the black piece will fit directly onto the visual back of any major SCT on the market (Meade and Celestron) whilst the chrome nose-piece allows SCT accessories to be fitted to the 2 inch eyepiece holder of any scope (ie not just SCTs!). The nose-piece is also threaded to take standard 2 inch filters.

This is a well made adaptor and the nose-piece is made of chrome-plated brass with an anti-slip recess. The camera holder (the black part) is made of black anodised aluminium. The interior is profiles to eliminate reflection and improve contrast.

Our opinion: This a well made and versatile adaptor and will serve the SCT user well. But it's worth noting that the rather long overall length profile makes this adaptor of less value to Newtonian and modern short focus refractors users and there may be difficulties achieving focus when used with these telescopes. For a low profile adaptor we recommend the Astro Engineering AC018.

Note that a standard T-thread adapter for your particular brand of SLR is required.
