The Praktica compact 60mm is a superb quality spotting scope with bright high-resolution BaK-4 optics and a zoom eyepiece delivering a powerful magnification range from a just about hand-holdable 15x to 45x (and all magnifications in between of course).

All optical components are fully multi-coated (FMC) to maximise contrast and image brightness.

The high-eyepoint eyepiece features long eyerelief and a soft foldable eyecup and is ideal for users with or without spectacles. The eyepiece is angled at 45 degrees to minimise neck strain. (see notes below)

The body of the Praktica 60 is finished in smooth rubber armour that shrugs off the rough and tumble of field use and ensures a secure grip when handling. The Praktica 60 is fully waterproof and nitrogen gas purged for fog free performance in all temperature conditions.

The telescope has a built-in tripod fitting poing.

The advantages of angled eyepieces over straight through eyepieces. If user comfort is to be set above all other considerations than certainly the angled eyepiece is the hands down winner. The angled eyepiece allows the observer to address the eyepiece in a manner that is least likely to cause discomfort when used for prolonged periods. The angled eyepiece also allows targets at higher elevations (birds in trees etc.) to be conveniently observed without setting the telescope in a position higher than the observers head.
