Fits all astro scopes

The camera eyepiece fits 1.25" and .965" (24.5mm) eyepiece holders and can be used with virtually all astro telescopes with interchangeable eyepieces.

Group viewing

This super device is great for group viewings, and any situation where you wish a number of people to participate in the observing session. It is also very useful for the more advanced user as a diagnostic tool for establishing the tracking performance of a scope and searching out the causes of vibration etc.

Magnified view

The eyepiece delivers the kind of magnification that you would expect to see through an eyepiece of 13mm focal length - and you can of course use accessories like 2x and 3x Barlows and filters with it, just like a normal eyepiece! Again, for the more advanced user, this electronic eyepiece is also particularly suited for use with Coronado Ha solar observing filters as it is very red-sensitive and has a very effective contrast control. The 1.25" metal nose-piece is threaded for standard filters, and can be unscrewed to reveal a second nose-piece for telescopes that require .965" fitting.

Plug-&-play USB connectivity

The eyepiece runs on power supplied by the PC's USB port. Standard USB extension cables can be used to achieve remote observation - great for namby-pamby armchair astronomers who can't face sacrificing the odd finger or toe to frostbite for their hobby! (Hang on a minute, that's all of us, isn't it? James SnS.) A parfocalising ring is included with the camera to enable you to corelate the focus point of the camera with an eyepiece or other equipment.

Educational (Er, but fun really)

This is a great fun gadget to use – it plugs into any PC with a USB port and shows brilliant high-resolution full colour images of the Moon (and Sun with a solar filter!) and brighter planets and stars directly on the PC screen. The displayed image can recorded as video and replayed or as sigle shot images. It's great fun to identify features on the Moon using an atlas, and then find them at the eyepiece - it's like doing a NASA fly-by and then exploring by eye once you’ve learnt the terrain! :-)
