New from ScopeTeknix!

The Multi LED Reticule Reflex Finder (or Multi Reticule Finder - MRF for short)

This superb all CNC fabricated reflex finder (with parts designed and manufactured in Britain) is supplied with a high-precision CNC made metel dovetail mount at an introductory price of just £39.99 in UK p&p.

The ScopeTeknix Multi-Reticule Finder is supplied with a small dovetail plate (and fittings) with a specially radiused base that mates perfectly with all semi-APO 80mm scopes of the same design as the Z80 (Inc Antares Sentinel, Scopos Observer, BC&F Revelation 80, Moonfish 80 etc). The MRF will also fit the popular 80mm APO scopes offered by BC&F, Moonfish and others.

Universal fitting The dovetail mounting (supplied) has been custom shaped to fit popular 80mm semi-APO and APO telescopes but can easily be attached to other telescopes as a simple DIY project. For example, the finder can be fitted to most Newtonian telescopes by simply drilling two holes in the telescope tube and using 4mm countersunk fasteners with nuts to hold the dovetail mount in place.

Supplied complete with dovetail mount to fit Z80 80mm semi-APO and APO (and copies), fasteners, battery, soft rubber lens cap, tools and full instructions.

What's so great about the Multi Reticule Finder?

The quality construction makes this accessory a joy to use - its the perfect finder accessory for the Z80 80mm semi-APO type clones and it compliments the high build quality and finish of these instruments perfectly. But it's "in action" that this finder really excels.

It's shockproof and waterproof (dew-proof!) and retains its collimation even after repeated removal and refitting cycles. Chrome thumbscrews allow the finder to be fitted to the dovetail support in seconds.

The four switch selectable reticules range from 1) a perfect half-a-degree circle with centre spot (ideal for deep-sky target finding using maps), 2) a simple mini-dot for star hopping, 3) a punctuated cross - useful for planet finding and feature ID-ing on the Moon. And finally, 4) a combined circle and cross (we're still waiting for someone to think up a good use for this one!). The chunky brightness control has seven different settings.

This type of non-magnifying and non-inverting finder allows you to accurately point the telescope with both eyes open. Unlike optical finders, you don’t need to get your eye close to it – you can look along the telescope tube at almost any convenient distance to see any of the four reticule forms apparently projected on the sky. The finder doesn’t actually project the reticule image on the sky of course, but creates a clever optical illusion that by looking through the rear of the finder, it appears that the glowing reticule is projected on the sky. This is probably the easiest type of finder to use, but is extremely useful to experienced astronomers as well.

The telescope's choice for a state of the art reflex finder!
