The Helios Fieldmaster A90 is a superb quality large aperture 90mm spotting scope with clear, bright, high-resolution optics and a zoom eyepiece delivering a mega-powerful magnification range of 30x to 90x (and all magnifications in between of course).

Fully rubber armoured This superb instrument is designed to go anywhere and observe wildlife in the field. The polycarbonate body of the A90 is finished in smooth rubber armour that shrugs off the rough and tumble of field use and ensures a secure grip when handling. The scope is fitted with a rubber clad extending lens hood - this acts as an anti-dew and glare shield.

Fully anti-reflection coated optics. The A90 spotter features top quality Bak-4 optical glass prisms through-out and high-quality, precision ground lenses, which are coated with multiple anti-reflection coatings.

Waterproof body with anti-fogging nitrogen gas filling

The A90 is fully water and weather-proof and is nitrogen gas purged for fog-free performance.

The A90 is supplied with a deluxe stay-on carry case with shoulder strap. A useful all metal table-top tripod allows the telescope to travel light and be set up on any flat surface.

360 degree rotating eyepiece

The eyepiece is angled at 45 degrees to minimise neck strain. The body of the Fieldmaster A90 can be rotated through 360 degrees and locked in any position to allow the eyepiece to be located in the most comfortable position.

In our opinion This is one of the best high power spotting scopes available. The 90mm aperture objective is the engine that drives the high performance of this scope. We're not normally keen on high power spotters for the simple reason that most of them just don't have the aperture to carry it off and deliver top notch views. The A90 is different. This superb spotter has got a big brand name behind it and more importantly, big brand know-how. Helios have equipped the A90 with an optical system that can deliver 90x magnification without the degradation in brightness and image sharpness that has so often defeated inferior designs. We like the ultra light weight of this scope - just 1.2kg. But don't be fooled by that, this is a portable scope to be sure but it's still big and it will need a good tripod to get the best performance.

There's a couple of nice touches that show the pedigree of this instrument; there's the stay-on carry case that adds to the already robust waterproof design and makes the scope ideal as an all weather companion. Also very useful, and we don't know why more scope makers don't do this trick - is the addition of a small and unobtrusive sighting tube to help point the instrument when using high power. Simple as it is ingenious, the sight tube is moulded in to the body of the scope and can be used to line the scope up with the target when using higher magnifications. OK - most of the time you don't need this feature, in most viewing situations you can simple lower the magnification to get a wider field of view, find the target and then zoom in for a high powered view. But with some targets, especially astronomy targets like the Moon and planets (you'd be crazy not to look at the night sky with a scope like this!) where there is just dark sky - the sight tube is an ideal means of helping you to find your way to the target.

This is a great scope for all high power viewing situations from long range wildlife watching to identifying shipping on the horizon and we recommend it highly.
