This Vanguard Elite 1 carbon fibre is similar to the 1715 Tracker 1 but the legs are made entirely of carbon fibre laminate - making the tripod light but also incredibly rigid and vibration free. The Elite 1 is designed for rugged field use of medium sized spotting scopes, binoculars and cameras. It features carbon fibre and aluminium construction with rigid 28mm diameter legs, and an ultra-smooth pan and tilt head.

The Elite 1 light weight rigid carbon fibre legs and precision aluminium alloy head and leg locks make it a joy to use. Offering the highest standard of support performance relative to its weight the Elite's smooth, robust 2-way head (with flip) makes this tripod an ideal tool for spotting scope and binocular mounting.

The Elite 1 is ultra portable field tripod that features an all metal smooth 2-way head with a metal quick-release dovetail instrument mounting platform. The head is equipped with a chunky control pan handle (the tripod is very versatile and can be locked in azimuth (left/right) independently of the altitude (up/down) lock.

The tripod features a large quick release platform that locks in to position using an all metal dovetail system. Flick the safety lever down and the telescope or camera can be removed instantly and swapped for another instrument. An additional quick release plate is included with the tripod.

The tripods light-weight construction has unexpected rigidity and out performs metal constructions in vibration damping. It has heavy duty feet with hard anti-vibration rubber shoes.

The Vanguard Elite 1 field tripod has a maximum height of 1.71m (just over 68"). It features the height and rigidity that makes it an ideal tripod for medium sized spotting scopes and will carry a load of 8kg and yet weighs in at under 3.1kg! The tripod features four position angle locks on each leg allowing the tripod down to ground level if required or to use a wall or other vertical structure as a brace as needed

The rigid polygonal centre column height is controlled by a conveniently placed lock.

The tripod will easily hold spotting scopes, binoculars (with additional bracket) and cameras up to 8 kilos.

A great feature (there are plenty!) of this precision made tripod is the robust and user adjustable leg locks. A few years in to the life of a tripod there is nothing more annoying than a leg lock that starts to slip through normal wear and usage. With most tripods you either live with it as long as you can and then throw it away. The Vanguard Elite has fully user adjustable leg-locks and can be adjusted to the optimum tension regardless of wear - and a special spanner for this purpose is included.

As well as medium sized spotting scopes - this is a great tripod for SLR cameras or the largest binoculars with a support bracket. Supplied with heavy duty shoulder strap with padded shoulder relief sleeve.
