The all metal ''Pan Head'' provides precise adjustment and the 360° panning movement and tight lock down of this head is exceptional. Couple this to a geared centre column, which has an adjustable tensioning collar, and you have a very versatile tripod. The feet allow you to choose between spikes or rubbers so that you can get a grip on most surfaces. The braced legs are lockable for extra security. The panhead is fluid damped, which provides a smooth action, and has a quick release shoe for ease of use. The tripod features a bubble level to ensure you can level it, added stability can be achieved by hanging accessories such as a gadget bag from the suspension hook at the base of the column.

What's so great about the MG-3 tripod?

Robust quality construction is the MG-3's main feature. The tripod has a quality all metal design, with smooth operating moving parts and tough but lightweight construction. Like all Vanguard tripods, the MG-3 is well engineered and maintains a high standard of stability even at full height. The three-legged sections and metal geared centre column design brings its full height up to 1.5m from a fully collapsed height of only 58cm. The all metal quick-release plate gives the mounted equipment a solid base that feels much firmer compared to ABS and plastic QR plates. A centre column hook (see picture) allows ballast to be added to the tripod to increase stability and minimise vibration.
